The Chinese Ministry of Education “CCB Cup,” the 6th China International College Students’ ‘Internet+’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (hereinafter referred to as the “contest”) press conference was held on November 11. With “I dare to rush, I will create” as the theme, putting forward “more international, more educational, more comprehensive, more innovational, more Chinese” requirement, with entries of 6.31 million people and 1.47 million projects from 4186 schools in 117 countries and regions. More than half of the world’s top 100 universities, including Oxford University, Harvard University, Technical University of Munich, and Bauman Moscow State Technical University, have participated in the competition.

Since the competition was held in 2015, more than 15 million college students and 3.74 million teams have participated in the six sessions of the competition, which has gradually grown into the largest undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship competition in the world. This competition added the word “International” in its name, inviting world-renowned universities to participate in the competition to establish a large international platform for competition, mutual promotion, and cultural exchanges, and holding a grand gathering of entrepreneurship and innovation for youth around the world.

The finals of this competition will be held at South China University of technology from November 17 to 21, and “1+6” series activities have been determined: that is 1 main event and 6 concurrent activities, including Resource Matchmaking, College Students’ Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Achievement Exhibition, World Bay Area Higher Education Forum, Global Unicorn Enterprise Summit Forum, Global Young Academic Celebrities face-to-face, and other science, technology and humanities exchanges. Due to the impact of the epidemic, international events and projects in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions of China cannot attend the competition on site. The competition explores a new model of running the competition with online and offline combination and uses international conference software to connect, creating a new template for holding international events under the epidemic situation.
